With a cool jazz sound, this band is set to keep you swingin'. Featuring DQ (Dan Quigley) on vocals and trumpet, Sean Flynn on Guitar and Bela Piri on Double Bass, their smooth blend of standards and cool bop tunes has been blowin' up a storm for over 4 years, playing various functions, weddings, birthdays, cafes, clubs and festivals throughout Brisbane.

They have performed with some of Australia's and the world's leading jazz and pop artists, including James Morrison, Randy Brecker, Dale Barlow, Grace Knight and Tina Arena.

The Cubano Highball Trio are three fine musicians playing Jazz, Latin and Funk for the corporate and wedding scene in Brisbane. 

The group sizzles with a stylish interplay of piano, bass and percussion, bringing any sized space to life.  Among others, the ensemble has been received warmly at functions hosted by Premier Peter Beattie at Parliament house and also by Lord Mayor Campbell Newman in City Hall.  The Cubano Highball Trio offer hours of repertoire, a professional attitude and can provide their own P.A. system.

Duncan James features with a number of Big Bands and ensembles in Queensland throughout the year including The Brisbane Big Band,The Glen Miller Tribute Big Band and also at a number of special events and intimate shows including the Noosa Jazz Festival with the Duncan James Quartet .also featuring with Duo, Trio, Quintet and Eight Piece his  unique voice provides a warmth,depth and range that soars with a big band and engages delicately in the nuances of small ensemble improvisation.

Based in Brisbane, Australia, Scott Martin is one of the youngest and finest performers in the local music scene today, currently performing regularly around Queensland with various bands and also as a solo performer.  At twenty-four years of age, he is known locally as 'the young crooner'. Scott brings his unique style and sophistication to those familiar cabaret songs from stage and screen.

Bluesabelle is best known for 50's Latin Jazz, Bebop Swing, Afro Cuban, Boogaloo, Funk, Salsa and Bossa Nova. In the past few years she has enjoyed incorporating the flavors of Neo Soul, Cu Beat, Afro Rhythms and Nu Jazz which have made their way into her time-traveling sets, creating unforgettable nights of sexiness.

Dj'ing was a hobby she began in Amsterdam's favourite cocktail bars in 1996 and was so in demand that Dj'ing has continued as her flavorsome forte. Having held one of the longest residencies in Australia for the past 8 years – her night “Moanin’ @ the Press” is still a foundation stone of quality Latin Jazz music in Brisbane and continues to evolve and grow with style.  Complimenting the talented jazz cats, salsarinas, soul jivers, cubanistas and bossa nova babies who continually grace Moanin’ with their style, taste and groove each year, Jazz and deep Latin is her joy.

At just twenty years, indie-jazz chanteuse Megan Washington has already made a splash in the Australian Jazz music scene. Having performed at festivals such as the Woodford Folk Festival, Wangaratta Jazz Festival, the Brisbane Festival, she is also studying at the Qld Conservatorium of Music, majoring in Contemporary voice. She has recently completed a collaborative ep with Sean Foran, of misinterprotato fame, entitled 'nightlight', available in June 2006. Winner of the James Morrison Generations in Jazz Vocal Scholarship 2004. Finalist in the Wangaratta National Jazz Awards 2005.

Two world class lead vocalists and one of the most in demand saxophone players in Australia lend their skilful musical talents to an ever expanding repertoire of over 500 songs encompassing music from the 50 ‘s, 60’s, 70’s, 80’ s, 90’s,and 2000 as well as rhythm and blues, jazz, country and soul classics.

With a mastery of the latest in music technology as well as acoustic instrumentation and percussion, this versatile Trio pride themselves on their flexibility and ability to cater to any delight any audience regardless of size, type or age group .

Stacey Broughton is a consummate performer and versatile entertainer with a passion for jazz. Her early years were filled with the sounds of Sarah Vaughan, Julie London, Sergio Mendes, Brazil 66 and the live sounds of jamming in her lounge room when jazz pianist Ray Aldridge visited the family home.

Inspired by the music that surrounded her younger years Stacey began studies in jazz guitar at 15 years and by the age of 22 added the alto sax to her collection of preferred instruments. Then she had an epiphany. Stacey realised she just wanted to sing!
